Adopt Me Pet Trading and Delivery
How Adopt Me trading works — the Trade License, 18 slots, the unfair-trade warning, and the cross-server Trading Hub.
Adopt Me trades run through an 18-slot window with a countdown that resets every time either side changes an item, and trading ultra-rare or legendary pets first requires a Trade License earned by passing a test at the Safety Hub. Since 31 July 2026 there is also a cross-server Trading Hub where listings can be posted for 100 Bucks.
Updated 8 September 2026.
The Trade License comes first
This is the gate that catches most new traders. From the wiki's Trade System page: the 2020 Trading Update, released 5 November 2020, raised the trade limit from 4 items to 9 and "added a test that players need to pass to unlock the Trade License, which is required for trading ultra-rare and/or legendary items. This was done in an effort to prevent scams."
You take the test at the Safety Hub, on Adoption Island behind the Green Groceries. The same building holds the Trade Book — your trade history — and the Code Redemption Kiosk.
Without a Trade License you cannot receive an ultra-rare or legendary pet. Almost everything anyone buys is one of those.
The trade window
The mechanic, from the same page:
- Click the player you want to trade with, then select Trade from the interaction menu — or press 1 on keyboard.
- They receive a request and accept or decline. On accept, both enter the trading menu.
- Add items with the green + icon; clicking an item in the trade removes it.
- A counter starts at 5 in the bottom-right and resets every time either player adds or removes anything. Only when it finishes does it become a green Accept button.
- Both players press Accept and the trade completes.
Trade slots grew twice. Four items originally, nine from 5 November 2020, and 18 since 5 May 2023, when trade chat notifications were added so both sides can track changes.
The resetting countdown is the single most important safety feature in the game: it makes it impossible to accept a trade in the instant after the other side swaps an item.
The "unfair" warning
Adopt Me judges trades. If the game rates one as unfair, a pop-up warns the player getting the better end that scamming is a bannable offence, and warns the other party that they might be getting scammed. If both proceed, the system grants 15 more seconds to accept or decline.
That warning is not a bug and it is not an insult. If you see it on a purchase, stop and check what is actually in the slots.
Two features worth knowing
Spectating (added 28 September 2023) — clicking a player already in a trade shows "Spectate Trade" instead of "Trade". Spectators can react with emojis and a counter shows how many are watching.
Backpack viewing (added 14 January 2026) — either trader can request to view the other's backpack. It was added in response to Roblox chat restrictions that limit who can talk to whom. If accepted, the viewer sees every item except locked and untradable ones, and can suggest adding an item; the other player accepts or declines the suggestion. Suggesting a removal was added the same day. The setting defaults to "always ask".
Backpack viewing is genuinely useful on a purchase, because it lets you confirm the pet exists before anything moves.
The cross-server Trading Hub
Released 31 July 2026, reached through the "Travel to Hub" button on the Trading Hub Phone. Inside, Robo-Todd posts listings and Robo-Rob searches them.
The rules that matter: posting a listing costs 100 Bucks, each player may have two active listings (a third slot is 49 Robux), and you must be in a server for your listings to show — they disappear when you go offline.
How we deliver
All 34 of our live Adopt Me listings are manual delivery. Adopt Me has no gifting system; a pet moves only through the trade window above.
- You give us a Roblox username. We never ask for your password, and a trade-window hand-off cannot use one.
- You need a Trade License for any ultra-rare or legendary pet. This is the most common reason an Adopt Me order stalls.
- You need to be in game, with trades enabled — note the trade toggle exists on desktop.
- Every completed order is photographed and the proof is attached to the order.
- We do not print a delivery time here. Adopt Me is a person meeting a person, so the honest number is a live measurement; our current delivery statistics are on /about.
Before you order
- Take the Trade License test if you have not.
- Expect the unfair-trade pop-up on a high-value one-sided trade — that is the game noticing you are receiving more than you give, which is exactly what a purchase looks like.
- Let the countdown run. Do not accept early, and do not ask us to.
