Steal a Brainrot Mutations: Multipliers, Odds and Which Are Worth Buying
Every Steal a Brainrot mutation multiplier from Gold 1.25x to Crystal 13x, the spawn odds, and which are event-only.
Steal a Brainrot has fifteen mutations, from Gold at 1.25x income to Crystal at 13x, and only four of them are permanently obtainable — Default, Gold at a 10% Red Carpet spawn, Diamond at 5% and Rainbow at 1%. Everything from Bloodrot upward is event-gated, which is why a Cyber or Phantom brainrot trades far above the same brainrot in Gold.

The full multiplier table
From the wiki's Mutations page, read 8 September 2026. A brainrot can carry exactly one mutation.
Permanently obtainable
| Multiplier | Mutation | Red Carpet spawn chance | In game since |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1× | Default | — | launch |
| 1.25× | Gold | 10% | 31 May 2025 |
| 1.5× | Diamond | 5% | 31 May 2025 |
| 10× | Rainbow | 1% | 21 June 2025 |
Event or admin only
| Multiplier | Mutation | In game since |
|---|---|---|
| 2× | Bloodrot | Update 2 |
| 4× | Candy | 5 July 2025 |
| 6× | Lava | 25 July 2025 |
| 7× | Galaxy | 23 August 2025 |
| 7.5× | Yin Yang | 27 September 2025 |
| 8.5× | Radioactive | 15 November 2025 |
| 9× | Cursed | 3 January 2026 |
| 10× | Divine | 21 February 2026 |
| 11× | Cyber | 18 April 2026 |
| 12× | Phantom | 13 June 2026 |
| 13× | Crystal | 25 July 2026 |
Each event mutation has a "mild chance to apply onto a brainrot" during its own event, and every one of them is marked unobtainable without Admin Abuse outside that window.
Rainbow and Divine share the same 10× multiplier, which the wiki flags explicitly — but Rainbow spawns naturally at 1% and Divine does not spawn at all outside its event. Same income, very different scarcity.
How the maths actually works
The wiki gives the formula, and it matters because mutations and traits combine differently:
(Brainrot income × Mutation multiplier) + Trait multiplier 1 + Trait multiplier 2 + …
The mutation multiplies. Traits add to the multiplier. Using the wiki's own worked example on Ventoliero Pavonero at $65M/s:
- Default: 1× → $65M/s
- Gold: 1.25× → $81.25M/s
- Cyber: 11× → $715M/s
- Default + one 5× trait: 1 + 5 = 6× → $390M/s
- Cyber + one 5× trait: 11 + 5 = 16× → $1.04B/s
- Cyber + two 5× traits: 11 + 5 + 5 = 21× → $1.365B/s
That is why a high mutation on a low-income brainrot is worth less than the same mutation on a high-income one: the multiplier scales whatever is underneath it.
Which mutations are worth buying
Rainbow is the best value proposition in the game. 10× income and it spawns naturally at 1% on the Red Carpet — no event required, no admin. Its chance also rises during the Rainbow Machine Event. Everything above it in multiplier is event-gated.
Gold and Diamond are cheap because they are common. At 10% and 5% Red Carpet spawn rates they are the two most common mutations in the game by a wide margin, and 1.25× and 1.5× is a small return. Buy them when the base brainrot is what you want and the mutation is a bonus.
Crystal, Phantom and Cyber are the scarcity plays. 13×, 12× and 11×, all event-only, and the three newest additions — July 2026, June 2026 and April 2026 respectively. There is no farm; there is a window.
The older event mutations are the underrated ones. Cursed at 9× (January 2026) and Radioactive at 8.5× (November 2025) sit close to Rainbow's 10× and have had their events pass, so supply stopped growing while newer mutations took the attention.
One more incentive the wiki records: collecting at least 75% of all obtainable brainrots in a single mutation unlocks a unique base skin, switchable from the settings menu. That is a completionist goal, not a buying strategy, but it is why some players chase one mutation across many brainrots.
A data note worth knowing
You will see two different numbers for the same mutation depending on where you look. Our own SAB dataset stores Gold as 0.25, Diamond as 0.5, Rainbow as 9, Cyber as 10 and Crystal as 12 — exactly one less than the figures above.
Both are correct; they are just different conventions. The wiki and every community guide quote the total multiplier (mutation plus the base 1×), and that is what this page uses. Raw datasets often store the bonus only. If a value list gives you a Gold multiplier of 0.25, it is not wrong — it is quoting the bonus.
Where to buy
We list mutated brainrots as their own items, so the mutation is part of the SKU rather than something applied afterwards. Availability changes constantly — check the page rather than this list.
