Blox Fruits Trading: Every Rule That Decides Whether a Trade Goes Through
How Blox Fruits trading works — where the trade seats are, five trades per eight hours, and the 40% value rule.
Blox Fruits trading happens only at the Café in the Second Sea and the Mansion in the Third, four items per trade, five trades every eight hours. The rule that blocks most attempted trades is the value cap: the two sides cannot differ by more than 40% in total price, extendable to 80–100% only by adding Robux products.
Updated 8 September 2026.
Where and how
Trading was added in Update 15. The wiki's Trading page describes the flow: you sit down at a trade seat, another player sits opposite, and a pop-up menu appears showing your stored Blox Fruits and purchased gamepasses.
There are exactly two trading locations: the Café in the Second Sea and the Mansion in the Third Sea. The wiki recommends the Third Sea one — it has an extra seat.
If either player has already used all five of their trades, the pop-up menu simply will not appear.
The limits, in one list
Every one of these is on the wiki's Trading page, read 8 September 2026:
- Four items per trade. Not four stacks — four items.
- Five trades every eight hours, and five per day, resetting when the clock hits 11:59 PM UTC+8.
- The two sides cannot differ by more than 40% in total price. This is the rule that stops most trades. It can be stretched to 80–100% by adding Robux-priced products; permanent fruits themselves carry a 100% allowance, and some shop products sit at 50–100%.
- You cannot give another player a gamepass or permanent fruit they already own.
- Gamepasses and permanent fruits cannot be traded unless they are stored in your inventory, which you do by gifting them to yourself.
- Traded gamepasses auto-redeem on arrival and cannot be re-stored.
- You can only store one of each fruit type, unless you buy +1 Fruit Storage for 400 Robux — each purchase adds one permanent extra slot for every fruit.
- You cannot drop a fruit once it is stored.
The 40% rule is the whole game
Read the value cap and the storage limit together and the Blox Fruits trade economy makes sense.
The wiki is candid that "there are no real trading values of every fruit in the game, although all fruits are given a money price by the developers" — so the 40% cap is computed against the developers' own Money prices, not against a community value list. A trade that looks fair by any tier list will still be refused if the underlying Money prices are more than 40% apart.
This is also why permanent fruits dominate high-end trades. The wiki says it directly: "Permanent Fruits are often traded for very high value fruits due to the fact that they cost Robux", and they carry a 100% value difference allowance rather than 40%. A permanent on one side of the table unlocks trades that would otherwise be impossible.
Why Fruit Storage is a trading item, not a convenience item
Without +1 Fruit Storage you can hold one of each fruit. Since a fruit must be stored to be traded, a single storage slot per type is a hard ceiling on how much you can hold in trade-ready form.
The wiki notes the product "has a very high trading value due to its usefulness", which is unusual language for a shop entry. At 400 Robux it is the cheapest thing on this page that changes what you are able to do rather than what you own.
Trading versus gifting — pick the right one
These are separate systems with separate rules, and using the wrong word causes most of the confusion in Blox Fruits trade chat:
| Trading | Gifting | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Café (Sea 2), Mansion (Sea 3) | Anywhere — cross-server since Update 24 |
| Limit | 4 items, 5 trades / 8 hours | none stated |
| Value rule | 40%, up to 80–100% with Robux items | none |
| Requires storing first | yes | no |
| Both players present | yes, seated opposite | no |
If someone is "trading" you a permanent fruit for real money, what will actually happen is a gift, not a trade. That is the mechanic, and it is why a shop can deliver without you travelling to the Café.
Trading safely
The game gives you three structural protections and no more:
- The 40% cap stops the crudest lowballs by refusing them outright.
- Both players must accept. Read the four slots, not the chat.
- Storage is required, so nobody can trade you something they do not actually hold.
What the game does not protect you from is an off-platform promise — someone who takes your item and says they will pay afterwards. There is no escrow in Blox Fruits and no middleman system. And no legitimate trade of any kind needs your account password.
Where to buy
If the 40% rule is what is blocking you, the two things that actually move it are storage and permanents:
- +1 Fruit Storage — $2.80 against 400 Robux — and +2 Fruit Storage
- Permanents, which carry the wider value allowance: Permanent Dragon, Permanent Kitsune, Permanent Buddha

Everything we sell for Blox Fruits is delivered by gift, not by the trade window — so none of the limits above apply to an order. You stay online, we send it, and the completed order is photographed. We never ask for your Roblox password. Current delivery statistics are on /about, and the mechanic is in how Blox Fruits delivery works.
